Blaming Alan...

A letter in today's SMH is terribly worried.
Alan Jones insists that he is not responsible for people threatening the life of the Prime Minister, even though he has denigrated her and told his listeners that she should be shoved into a sack and dumped out at sea.
Here's what he actually said, originally in relation to Sydney Mayor Clover Moore:
Alan Jones: Put her in the same chaff bag as Julia Gillard and throw them both out to sea.
— 2GB, The Alan Jones Breakfast Show, 29th June, 2011
Chilling, isn't it? I can imagine "Right-Wing Christian Extremists" (probably Norwegian) stocking up on chaff bags and rowboats as we speak.

The correspondent continues to worry:
He claims that people are very very angry, because of the carbon pollution tax - of course they are, he makes sure they are, he is inciting people in the same way he did during the unrest at Cronulla some years ago when he urged Anglo Australians to get down there and recruit some big islanders along the way, and we all remember the result.

If any violence is perpetrated against the Prime Minister or any members of the Government, I for one will blame Jones and 2GB.
Lorraine Bevins Chester Hill
It's nice to know that if any Islamic Jihadists make good on their threats against an Australian Prime Minister, that Alan Jones will be blamed instead.

As for Cronulla? I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure the surfers and bogans who got caught up in the riot weren't the typical Alan Jones demographic.
