Japanese whalers attack Sea Shepherd with a single bamboo spear

With very little action in the Southern Ocean Sea Shepherd attempts to manufacture drama:
The Yushin Maru No. 3 deliberately turned into Sea Shepherd Conservation Society’s ship the Gojira today in an attempt to ram and destroy the fast multi hulled vessel skippered by Captain Locky MacLean.

“It was like staring death in the face when that steel hull suddenly turned into us. We just narrowly avoided being cut in half,” said Captain MacLean.
Despite the presence of film crews the narrow miss is not available online. Video of another "staring death in the face" moment is available, however, as a Sea Shepherd inflatable is "attacked" with a "bamboo spear". The razor-sharp point of the spear – aka a broom handle – is not shown.

The potentially deadly "bamboo spear" will now take its place in the Sea Shepherd museum next to the "bullet" that nearly killed Captain Paul Watson.

What a bunch of self-promoting weirdos.

Are any of these "Captains" actually real Captains? With tickets? You know, like have they done the Deckhand cert & hours, then the Coxwain's cert and hours, then the Master Class V certs and hours? With all the testing & certification (Fire-fighting,Sea survival,First aid cert,Medical, Coastal Navigation, Ships Knowledge,Radar,Radio, MED (3,2,or1) thats Marine Engine Driver, and all the 800 + another 1500 + another 1500 properly logged hours and all?

I have my Deckie's certificate, and none of the blokes I've slaved for (ha ha, joke) have called themselves "Captain" anyway, even when they have their Master Class V ticket, they call themselves and each other "Skippers" and they say the only word that properly comes after the word "Captain" if someone uses it to refer to themself is "Wanker".

But technically if you're not a proper Captain can you still make everyone call you "Captain" like the Sea Shits tell the media to do, or is it like someone who isn't a Doctor demanding that everyone call him Doctor just because he put Betadine on his kid's skinned knee one time.

I bet none of them even got their Coxswain ticket let alone their Captains ticket, that's what I reckon.

"Captain" Watson's expertise as a 'ship driver' was developed as a deckhand of an inshore Coast Guard ship. He was evidently permitted to hear sailor say words like"port", "starboard", "avast", and "haul away-ho". Some may have told him of the "big greenie".

Cheers

They really are nutters these people. Loved this bit too:

“Sea Shepherd views the tailing of their ships as provocation”

but:

“The Bob Barker and the Gojira will continue to pursue and harass the Japanese whaling fleet…”

Apparently it’s ‘provocation’ to even follow a Sea Shepherd vessel but no problem for them to ‘pursue and harass’ the Japanese vessels.

Shades of the great Jules Assange here; I can leak whatever I please but I’ll sue if you reveal anything about me…
