Howards bowl was a shocker, no doubt about it. But that video when viral back then. Lefty's were all over it - "Look at Howards lameness, and all that". I don't believe his supporters were jumping to his defence from memory. It was a bit of an eye roller for me at the time.
The thing is, the shoe is on the other foot. Rather than just say nothing, or agree, or just think to yourself it's lame, lefties are getting all defensive, and the standard response is "but .. but.. but.. your guy did it first, see?"
The result? The mantle of lameness has passed from Howard to Obama to you!
Its foolish to think that JWH ball is equal to BO's.
JWH bowled 3 no balls and 3 wides. Each ball did not make it way to the wicket or trouble the batsman. 2 of them landed at his feet.It was utterly pathetic. The batsman and keeper had no chance.
I give it -6 out of 10.
BO'S was a lame softy throw outside the plate. The keeper caught it comfortably though. I give it 1 out of 10.

Was John Howard throwing out the first ball in whatever your equivalent of the World Series was? What was the importance of the occasion? Was it as historic a tradition to Australians as having the President of the United States throw out the first ball is to Americans?
I admit that I don't follow Ozzie sports, so could you direct me to video of Kevin Rudd and Julia Gillard, and maybe whoever came before Howard, taking part in this tradition, just for comparison's sake?
Otherwise I'm afraid I don't understand the prominence that Howard's lame throw was given or why it has any comparison to Obama's.

So the Howard defence is that his bowl is not equivalent to Obama's pitch, or Howard is older, or I have and expert scoring system and Howard wins because I play sport!

I like Howard and am not that great a fan of Obama, but both deserve to have the piss taken out of them for their sporting prowess without the need to get all defensive an precious.

John Howard is a HUGE cricket tragic (cricket fan).
I'm pretty sure that the video was simply of him having a throw, when there was something on. Nothing ceremonial, just politicians doing that thing they do when the cameras are around.
Only Keri would know that Keri didn't if indeed she didn't.
